Introduction
Cotton and other cellulosic fabrics burn readily unless they are treated, which matters wherever textiles are used around heat, open flame, or electrical equipment. Flame retardants for cotton fabric are finishing chemicals applied to woven or knitted cellulosic textiles to reduce afterflame time, limit char length, and help finished fabrics meet flammability standards for home textiles, workwear, and technical fabrics.
As a manufacturer, we supply durable press and semi-durable finishing systems based on phosphorus-nitrogen chemistry, suited to pad-dry-cure and exhaust application methods used in textile mills. Formulations are designed to be compatible with standard finishing lines and common cotton blends, including cotton-polyester where relevant.
Because treated fabric still needs to be worn, washed, and handled like ordinary textile, hand feel, color retention, and wash durability are weighed alongside flame performance rather than treated as secondary concerns.
